This October, the Centre for Young Lives partnered with Mission44 to host their Ambitious about Inclusion in Greater Manchester event. The Greater Manchester Mayor, Andy Burnham provided an inspiring talk, recognising the need for an inclusive and tailored approach for supporting young people within the education system.
This roadshow event sought to highlight issues, such as school exclusion policies, and promote the need for schools to be a nurturing and hopeful place for young people from all backgrounds. General best practices and local insight were shared to forge a pathway towards understanding how to best support young people in Greater Manchester

“The Greater Manchester way will be an ambitious way, it will be an inclusive way, and we’ll back young people all the way.” – Greater Manchester Mayor, Andy Burnham
Mission44 calls for a shift towards a preventative and inclusive approach to the behaviour management of vulnerable pupils within schools, rather than a blanket approach that often marginalises those most vulnerable.
The next event will be in Portsmouth 13 November, and then Maidstone on Wednesday 10 December. Register your interest for upcoming ‘Ambitious about Inclusion’ events here: Register interest
